Two of the major portals being developed by SDRC is the `Metaphase Inside' portal, in which the portal's central nervous system will be empowered by SDRC's Metaphase product knowledge management system. The second one is the `Pay as you go' portal targeted at product developers who need access to special capabilities on an as-needed basis only instead of buying a license and committing resources.

Mr Raj Pillai, director, Asia-Pacific PDM operations, SDRC, said the company was setting up a Metaphase exchange. SDRC is currently working with one of the large auto portals for offering it back-end system solution, Mr Pillai said. The Web front end will be I-DEA while the back-end will be supported by SDRC's new product Accelis.

SDRC's latest e-business collaboration solution called `Accelis' is product for companies that want to rely on e-business models for their product lifecycle needs.

Accelis is a Web-centric solution for linking various systems in an enterprise including legacy systems into a single environment while leveraging Java and XML technology. This one-to-any supplier model allows all authorised users access to the information they need and process they are participating in for the entire business transaction.
