Mumbai, Oct 9: Following a reshuffle at the State Bank of India (SBI), chief general manager (Maharashtra circle) AK Puruwar, has taken over as the bank's chief credit officer (CCO). Mr Puruwar was promoted to the post of deputy managing director (DMD) of the bank some time ago and was awaiting transfer. Mr R Krishnamurthy, who was holding dual charge as CCO as well as officer on special duty for the bank's insurance operations, will now be taking care of the bank's insurance division exclusively. Sources at the bank said, "He will be made chief of the insurance joint venture as and when it is formed". Mr Krishnamurthy was instrumental in preparing the business plan for the bank's insurance activities.MrN Sadasivan, who was formerly heading SBI's Bangalore circle, has also been shifted to the Maharashtra circle. The country's largest commercial bank is expecting another round of reshuffles by the end of the month when its chairman GG Vaidya is scheduled to retire. Though speculation is rife about Mr Vaidya being granted extension by a few months because of his involvement with the Indian Millennium Deposit scheme, sources say that it is unlikely.
