New Delhi, Oct 9: The finance ministry-initiated Indian Banks' Association (IBA) committee on human resource management on Monday recommended to the government to reduce the retirement age in the public sector banks from 60 to 58 years besides suggesting voluntary retirement scheme and sabbatical.``In its final report, the committee laid emphasis on right-sizing the manpower. Besides VRS and sabbatical, the committee has also recommended rolling back of the age of retirement from 60 to 58 years,'' IBA said in a statement here.
The report was submitted to finance minister Yashwant Sinha by IBA chairman SS Kohli.
Earlier, the government cleared the interim report of the committee suggesting a golden handshake and sabbatical.
