Devgan Entertainment is in the final stages of editing "Shaan Se", a weekly soap. Written by Shoba De, the theme revolves around model aspirants looking to make it in the glamour world. The company has approached Star Plus and B4U to air the soap by the year-end. A series in English is also being produced, titled "Quest-Myths of India." To be hosted by a celebrity, it will be a journey into the mythical past of India. The company has already roped in Raageshwari to anchor four episodes. Production costs will be about Rs 3 lakh per episode, said Devgan Entertainment & Software Limited executive director Mr Kumar Mangat. On the anvil, is a mythological series. Shooting for this is expected to commence by the year-end.
The company will also begin work on a live action animation series. This will be their biggest project on the small screen, said Mr Mangat. Devgan Entertainment is already in the business of movie production and distribution. "Raju Chacha" is its latest venture starring Ajay Devgan, Kajol and Rishi Kapoor.
"We will spend Rs 25 crore on the movie, said Mr Mangat." The release is slated for the year-end. The company has deferred its initial public offering (IPO). "We will be looking at an IPO only by the second quarter of 2001," said Mr. Mangat. The company has just launched cineexplore.com, a Website for those aspiring to join movies. The Website will host a talent search and film-based training besides financing new projects. Devgan Entertainment will produce a movie, which will be directed, scripted and have music composed from the Website talent search.
