PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
New Delhi, Oct 5: The production Maruti Udyog continued to remain partially affected on Thursday as talks between the management and agitating employees ended inconclusively with both the sides refusing to budge from their positions. The six-hour tool-down strike, two hours in each shift, by the employees continued while the fast-unto-death by Maruti Udyog Employees Union (MUEU) president Dinesh Kumar and general secretary Mathew Abraham entered the third day, MUEU Treasurer and spokesperson GK Walia said. Warning of "harsh stand" if the management does not give any positive response for further talks by tomorrow morning, Mr Walia said "we would intensify the agitation if they (management) fail to respond to our demands". A Maruti spokesperson said Thursday's meeting produced no positive results and talks would continue. Copyright © 2000 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
