Nortel Networks (India) Pvt Ltd is all set to launch the services of its recently identified business group -- Global Professional Services (GPS) -- in India as part of its plans to leverage the market needs for building convergence networks.The business group has five key areas of operations - Internet infrastructure services, network enabled transformation, service enabled solutions, managed network services and Internet data center/ASP solutions.
Addressing a media briefing, Nortel (GPS) managing director Mr PPR Rao said the business group would target the service provider and the enterprise market and offer the complete range of services including -- strategic business consulting, planning managed services, turn key implementation of networks, multi-vendor integration of networks, BOT (build-operate-transfer) model for networks etc.
``Nortel following its strategy of growth through acquisitions has gathered IP and expertise in various convergence technology segments. This division will bring together all the expertise to help customers in solution architecting, leveraging existing networks to improve business operations and strategic technical consulting,'' Mr Rao said.
