Vladimir Putin arrives in Mumbai

The Delhi High Court has restrained the Unit Trust of India from terminating its Rajlakshmi Unit Scheme. Issuing notice to the UTI returnable for December 11, Justice Manmohan Sarin in a recent order said "termination of the scheme will be subject to the outcome of the writ petition."
Swedish Match AB hikes Wimco stake
The Jatia Group has ceded its 21.89 per cent stake in Wimco Ltd in favour of Swedish Match AB and its subsidiary based in Singapore.Swedish Match Singapore Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Swedish Match AB, has acquired 1,13,82,800 equity shares in Wimco representing 21.89 per cent of its paid up capital on September 27, 2000 from AVP Trading Pvt and Plash Food Pvt Ltd, representing the Jatia Group.

Polaris yet to hear from Data Inc
Polaris Software has said it was yet to receive official communication from the US-based Data Inc about its filing of a suit against Polaris for not honouring the MoU to acquire Data Inc. The acquisition was said to be against the interests of its shareholders.

Sensex rises 25 points
Dull trading continued as prices moved in a narrow range despite the Nasdaq fall. Prices opened on a weak note in the wake of the Nasdaq fall but recovered partially in the afternoon.
