Cabinet decision on petro price rollback on Friday
Our Political Bureau
New Delhi, Oct 3: The Union Cabinet is likely to take a decision on the rollback of petro prices at its meeting here on Friday even as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee indicated in Calcutta that prices of kerosene, LPG and diesel would be reduced marginally following intervention of the Prime Minister. The Telugu Desam Party also appears to be backing Ms Banerjee's stand that there should be a partial roll-back in oil prices. Ms Banerjee will not attend the Cabinet meeting as she has already tendered her resignation. Trinamool Congress will wait for the outcome of the Cabinet meeting before withdrawing resignations of Ms Banerjee and Ajit Panja. The deadline has been extended till October 6.
