State awaits Putin's visit

Mumbai, Oct 3: The Democratic Front government in Maharashtra is using all the tricks in the trade to establish a good relationship with Russia during President Vladimir Putin's visit to Mumbai. The state government, which was only used to red-tapism, will offer a red-carpet welcome to Putin.Mantralaya sources told The Financial Express that the state government headed by Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh is giving final touches to the proposed trade and business offers to be made to Mr Putin. Mr Deshmukh will formally put forth his government's stand during a meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry in honour of Mr Putin on October 5.
