For God's sake -- Durga Pujas go online

Our eFE Bureau
Calcutta: You are in for a big surprise if you thought this portal will not give you an opportunity to see Ma Durga. Bengalonthenet, the state-specific portal, has added a new Webpage to its existing site. The new page called "www pujaonthenet.com" intends to cash in on the Bengali Durga puja spirit that has gripped the city in the festive season.

Pujaonthenet promises to bring the Durga puja festival "alive" to the Netizens. The portal has dedicated an entire section to the historical importance of Durga puja. Another section called "Puja Parikrama" will show the surfers vignettes of select photographs of Durga images in the city. Pujaonthenet will also offer an "archive" of the previous two years' pujas.

Apart from these the regular sections featuring various eateries, shopping malls and the "most happening" places in Calcutta during the pujas have been religiously put into the new page.

Pujaonthenet is also organising some contests for its surfers. A few questions related to Taj Bengal hotel in the city, for instance, if answered correctly will entitle one to enjoy a free meal for two in the hotel's coffee shop. Another contest, which is for the e-greetings section, will test the participants' imagination in sending greetings cards either by e-mail or post. The best card will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
