Our eFE Bureau
New Delhi: Close on the heels of talks about Zee tying up with Madhuri Dixit for `Sawal Dus Crore Ka', BBC World has announced that it would be having Mads on its `Face to Face' programme today (Wednesday - October 4), not as the host but as a guest. To be sponsored by Maruti Suzuki Baleno, BBC World is starting a series on personalities in the entertainment and glamour industry in `Face to Face'. The 13-episode series on the entertainment industry will begin today (October 4), the first guest being Bollywood queen Madhuri Dixit. According to a BBC spokesperson, many prominent stars will feature in this programme, but not all names have been finalised yet. Recordings are still on, said the spokesperson.

Among the people who are certain to feature in this entertainment series are Shamik Davar, Meera Nair and Ritu Kumar. The programme is telecast every Wednesday at 10 p.m. and repeated on Thursday at 12 noon and 6 p.m., on Sunday at 1 p.m. and on Monday at 6 p.m. The entertainment industry series is the second trend series in `Face to Face'. Earlier, it ran a series on cricketing heroes which featured Pataudi, Ravi Shastri, Bishen Singh Bedi, Ajit Agarkar, Robin Singh and others. The cricketing series was sponsored by Philips India. Encouraged by the response to the cricketing series, BBC World decided to run a similar one on the entertainment industry.

While `Face to Face' started in July 1999 as a general personality-based interview programme, the first trend series - Indian Cricketing Heroes - began a year later in July 2000. And now, it's the turn of the second trend series - Indian Entertainment Industry. Face To Face is presented by Karan Thapar and produced in Delhi for BBC World by UTV. It is a part of BBC World's dedicated India-specific programming slot telecast at 10 p.m. everyday.
