HFCL to invest Rs 51crore in JV
HIMACHAL Futuristic Communications Ltd (HFCL) has decided to invest upto Rs 51 crore in a joint venture with PBL Mauritius Ltd, a Kerry Packer Group company. The joint venture will focus on areas including television, radio, magazine, films, music and interactive services. HFCL is also forming two more joint ventures - Indiasign Pvt Ltd to provide infrastructure solutions and India Centre for Net Security Pvt Ltd to focus on security aspects of the business online, Internet, etc.

Apollo expands healthcare business
Apollo Hospitals has expanded its presence in healthcare with the launch of "Apollo, The Italian Dental Cliniq".The clinic meets international standards and would provide quality dental products to dentists across India, a press release stated.

Plastibends net surges 55 per cent
Plastiblends India, a part of the Rs 115 crore Kolsite group, has registered a 55 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 1.76 crore for the quarter ended June 30, against 1.14 crore in the same period last year.Sales and other income went up to Rs 13.53 crore against Rs 9.98 crore in the previous year.

Johnson Controls to acquire firm
Johnson Controls, a strategic alliance partner of Amara Raja Batteries has announced plans to acquire Gylling Optima Batteries. Headquartered in Danderyd, Sweden, Gylling Optima is a manufacturer of high performance lead-acid batteries using proprietary Spiralcell Technology.

Hikal Chem gets award
Hikal Chemical Industries Ltd, the only global producer of TBZ has been awarded the "British Safety Council" award for world class health, safety and environmental standards at their Taloja plant near Mumbai.
