ISPs, IT associations hail 100% FDI in Internet services
ISPs and infotech associations on Friday have welcomed the government's decision to permit 100 per cent FDI through automatic route saying the move would galvanise the Internet market by attracting better technology and funds while easing out non-serious players. "The announcement would bring better infrastructure into the country and the market would see a large influx of funds over the next few months," according to Dewang Mehta, president of Nasscom.

Digital satellite earth station to be commissioned at Siachin
A new intermediate digital rate satellite earth station at Thoise, the air base for Siachin area, would be commissioned on Saturday. The satellite earth station, to be commissioned by communication minister Mr Ram Vilas Paswan, would provide STD services and Internet connectivity to the defence personnel posted in this area.

BuyAsone, Apnaloan tie-up to offer finance options to customers
BuyAsone.com, India's a B2C e-commerce site based on the concept of group buying, has tied up with Apnaloan, the Web-enabled loan marketplace to offer finance options to its customers who wants to buy from Buyasone.com. Under the alliance, customers can avail of personal loans from various banks and financial institutions like ANZ Grindlays Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra and Tata Finance.

View your mobile bills on handsets instantly, courtesy Infozech Soft
Now with WAP enabled eBill coming to India, mobile phone users will be able to view their bills on their handsets, announced Mr Ankur Lal, chief executive of Infozech Software. This new breakthrough which Infozech will provide to telecom service providers would enable their franchise `WAP enabled' mobile phone users to `Get-View-Pay' their bills instantly on their little screen, said Mr Lal.
