Sibar Media to launch film-based contest-driven site on Sept

Mumbai-based Sibar Media & Entertainment will launch a contest-driven portal"Filmikhoz.com" on September 15. The portal will have a database of nearly10,000 movies.

The company director Mr Hemang Jangla told eFe on Wednesday that initiallyweekly contests would be held on the Website and later it would be conductedafter every two to three days. The contests will be related to movies,songs, directors, actors, actresses, stories, scripts, trivia and gossips.

He said the company has so far made an investment of around Rs 40 lakh insetting up this portal. The company has already started taking trial runs.

Simultaneously, the company has embarked upon a Rs 10 crore investment planto set up film studios and produce TV serials. A state-of-the-art editingstudio will be operational at Marol, north west Mumbai from September 4.

At Hyderabad, the company has developed a studio in an area of around 4,500sq ft. This studio will be used for animation, special effects and film andTV post-production facilities.

Mr Jangla said that these studios are equipped with the latest cutting-edgehardware and software, InterGraph's 2X workstations, SoftImage DA, Maya,Avid media composer, Ds Max and velocity.

The company chairman Mr M Subbarao said that these studios have alreadyattracted a lot of enquiries from big time producers and some majoranimation and special effects studios in the US. Jangla said that thecompany has already applied for a prime slot at 10 pm at Zee for the famousserial Thriller at 10. Already in the pipeline are feature films, other TVserials, multimedia CD-ROMs and a TV channel. Mr Subbarao said that thecompany has already explored the primary market with an initial public offerof Rs 56 lakh. The company has made projections for next three fiscals andit expects a gross income of Rs 5.53 crore in 2000-01, Rs 11.10 crore in2001-02 and Rs 14.76 crore in 2002-03.
