New Delhi, Aug 27: Bharat Heavy Electricals limited (Bhel) has bagged yet another order from Indian oil Corporation (IOC) for setting up an energy-efficient and environment-friendly co-generation power plant for Haldia refinery in West Bengal.The order valued at Rs 86 crore, comes close on heels of three major turnkey orders, currently under execution by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited for co-generation power plants at IOC's Digboi, Panipat and Barauni refineries.
As part of Haldia refinery expansion plan, IOC is setting up the co-generation power plant to meet the power and a team needs of the refinery. The power plant is scheuled to be commissioned by Bhel in a tight schedule of 15 months.
Bhel's scope of work for Haldia refinery envisages manufacture, supply, erection and commissioing of a 20 mw (frame 5) gas turbine generator and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) of 100 tons per hour capacity with associated auxiliaries and balance of plant equipment.
Whereas, the gas turbine generator will be manufactured by the Bhel's Hyderabad unit, the heat recovery steam generator and control systems will be manufactured at the company's Trichy plant and electronics division, Bangalore respectively.
