Dadiseth, Parekh to be on IHCL board
Shareholders of Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) have approved the appointment of KB Dadiseth, head of Unilever's home and personal care division in UK, and Deepak Parikh, chairman of the Housing Development Finance Corporation, as directors of the company. Both of them have been appointed additional directors from May 9. The Rs 618 crore IHCL, which owns the Taj Group of hotels, was looking at a new property in New York and a hotel in Dubai, Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata told the annual general meeting in Mumbai on Saturday.

Eastman Kodak, HP plans new firm
Eastman Kodak and Hewlett Packard on Friday announced that their joint venture company focusing on digital photo finishing solutions would be named Phogenix Imaging. "The name was chosen to reflect the joint venture's focussed approach in the field of digital photo finishing solutions," the company said in a release here. The company would develop retail digital inkjet photofinishing equipment and supplies, it said.

Category `A' licence for Tata Power
Tata Power has obtained a category `A' licence as internet service provider (ISP),enabling it to operate throughout the country. With the ISP license, TEC's plan for development of broadband business will get further momentum.

Oberoi repositions Khajuraho hotel
The Oberoi group has announced the repositioning of its hotel in Khajuraho. With effect from September 1, 2000 the group's existing hotel in Khajuraho will be rebranded Jass Trident, Khajuraho.

US health care official visit India
Subash Duggirala, National Quality Management Administrator, Health Services,the US government is currently on a visit to India to explore the possibility of setting up a centre for healthcare review and accreditation.

He shared his experience at a function organised by Hinduja Foundation and American Association of Physicians of Indian origin.

MTIL signs JV with Canadain firm Micro Technologies (MTIL) has set up a joint venture company with Canada-based Avaco International with an initial equity base of $1 million to develop high-tech software for the Canadian market. Both the companies have a 50 per cent equity partnership in the new entity, MTIL chief executive officer P Sekhar told reporters in Mumbai on Friday. "We expect a business of $5 million in the first year of our operations in Canada," Avoco International director Ajay said.

RPG firm CEO is new MEDC chief
The chief executive officer of RPG Enterprises, Sharad Kulkarni, has been appointed at president of Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC).

MEDC has been jointly promoted by all the chambers of commerce in the state, including CII and Assocham. The council carries out economic research and other activities aimed at promoting development in the state.
