Mori commits $1 bn Japanese aid for MRTP, Simadhari projects

Notwithstanding the sanctions imposed by it against India after the nuclear tests, Japan has committed nearly $1 billion assistance for mass rapid transport project in Bangalore and the Simadhari power project in Andhra Pradesh.

Centre may scrap licensing norms for export units

The Government proposes to dispense with the licensing requirement for 100% export-oriented units (EOUs) and units set up in export processing zones to manufacture items reserved for the small-scale sector.

SBI Caps favours levelised tariff for Hirma Power

SBI Capital Markets has recommended a levelised tariff of Rs 1.2249 per Kwh for the 3960-mw Hirma power project in Orissa, the country's first mega power project promoted by Southern Energy Asia Pacific of USA and Reliance Power.

Hughes Tele.com (India) Ltd has achieved financial closure by tying up vendor debt of about Rs 1,078 crore and Rs 854 crore debt underwritten by ICICI.
