Delhi-Frankfurt Delta service from June '01
Delta Airlines Inc will begin daily service between Frankfurt and Delhi from June 1, 2001. With this service, Delta will be the only carrier to offer direct, same-aircraft service from Atlanta to Delhi. Single-connection service from John F Kennedy International Airport, New York and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky to Delhi also will be available. Delta will operate Boeing 767-300 aircraft between Frankfurt and Delhi.DMIL ends auto Cielo production
Daewoo Motors India Ltd (DMIL) has discontinued production of the automatic transmission version of Cielo due to embarrassingly low sales . This announcement comes close on the heels of General Motors India Ltd's decision to discontinue production of the automatic transmission model of its luxury car Opel Astra. Sales of automatic transmission versions of most cars have been on a low ebb with customers preferring to purchase the geared versions.
Max India okays Pathlabs investment
The board of Max India has approved the proposal for investment of an amount not exceeding Rs 14 crore for the acquisition of a 50 per cent equity stake in Pathlabs Pvt Ltd. The board also reviewed the investment proposed to be made by Neeman Medical International Plc, UK a second generation subsidiary of the company in Instituto Constrricense de Investgaciones Clinicas, a clinical research company based in Costa Rica.
Fortune Steel bags award
The All India Stainless Steel Industries Association has awarded the top exporter award for the highest exports of stainless steel kitchenware for the year 1999-2000 to Fortune Steel Industries. The award was presented at the hands of the excise commissioner V Sridhar.
