Jain TV to telecast the
BJP's national convention live Jain TV will telecast the BJP national convention to be held on 27th and 28th August 2000 at Nagpur live.This will be the first time that the entire proceedings of the open sessions at the convention of any political party will be telecast live. In US, Direct TV has dedicated a special channel to broadcast live coverage of the Republican Party's convention at Philadelpia and the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.

Sify relaunches Satyamonline.com
Satyam Infoway (Sify) on Thursday relaunched its flagship portal satyamonline.com as Sify.com. with enhanced and additional features including free e-mail services and a channel for youth. "The change to sify.com represents the beginning of next phase of growth for our portal business," Sify chief operating officer George Zacharias said relaunching the portal. Sify had carried out an extensive consumer research for a new user interface and enhanced channels and services. The Internet and e-commerce company enhanced its free e-mail service, shopping channel and introduced a `Sify youth' channel, it said.

EVI to set up shared call centre for 14 banks
Equifax Venture Infotek (EVI) on Thursday announced it would set up a shared call centre for 14 banks across the country with an initial investment of Rs 3 crore. In the first phase, EVI would set up the centres in eight locations and would provide services to all banks that are EVI partners, a company statement said in New Delhi.

"The centres connected to a central database in mumbai are aimed at benefiting banks, merchant establishments and cardholders," it said. The upcoming centres would make available all updated customer information at a single point and then disseminate the same to all centres where the customer logs in. PC Quest ranks TVSE' dot matrix printer as No 1 TVS Electronics has won PC Quest's Users Choice Award in the dot matrix printer category for the Year 2000. The 12th Annual User's Choice Awards ceremony was conducted in Bangalore recently. The company also received nominations in almost all its product categories - UPS systems, inkjet printers and language solutions. Products need to obtain a certain minimum level of votes from the survey to be nominated, said Gopal Srinivasan, director, and TVS-Electronics.
