Narayana Murthy is most-admired CEO, says poll

Mumbai, July 26: Infosys Technologies chairman NR Narayana Murthy has been voted India's most-admired CEO in the annual opinion poll conducted for Business Barons among CEOs and senior executives by Taylor Nelson Sofres Mode (TNS Mode), the Indian affiliate of the world's second largest market research agency.

Narayana Murthy edged out second-placed Azim Premji (Wipro). Last year's winner Dhirubhai Ambani (Reliance Industries) was placed third, followed by Ratan Tata.

Infosys Technologies also emerged as India's most admired corporate in the Business Barons - TNS Mode poll, followed by Hindustan Lever, Wipro and Reliance Industries.

The 10 most-admired CEOs of 2000 as per the Business Barons - TNS Mode opinion poll are: NR Narayana Murthy, Azim Premji, Dhirubhai Ambani, Ratan Tata, Anil Ambani, Subhash Chandra, Rahul Bajaj, Kumar Mangalam Birla, R Raju and Mukesh Ambani.

The 10 most-admired corporates in 2000 as per the Business Barons - TNS Mode poll are: Infosys Technologies, Hindustan Lever, Wipro, Reliance Industries, L&T, Satyam Computer, Zee Telefilms, HDFC, Tata Engineering and Ranbaxy.
