New Delhi, July 24: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) has urged the government to withdraw the enhanced rate of registration fees payable to Registrar of Companies (RoC).Ficci feels that instead of increasing the fees from time to time, the quality of services provided by the office of Registrar of Companies should be improved keeping with the changed environment.
Ficci has said that the increase in fees on account of authorised share capital from Rs 80 lakh to Rs 2 crore was without any rationale as the government notification did not explain the object and reasons for such increase.
Prior to the notification, companies increasing their authorised capital were required to pay the additional fees only on the increased part of the authorised capital, it said.
However, the chamber said with this notification, the government had sought to levy additional fees on the existing capital of the company also. It suggested that the fees payable for increase should be only for the increase in capital and not for the entire authorised capital.
