Indian Shaving Products net up 9%
Indian Shaving Products Ltd, a Gillette subsidiary, reported a 43 per cent jump in turnover to Rs 82.84 crore, up from Rs 58.04 crore for the second quarter ended June, 2000. Pre-tax profit at Rs 9.26 crore was up 22 per cent from Rs 7.62 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of last year. Post-tax profits were up 9 per cent to Rs 5.12 crore against 4.69 crore reported during the same quarter last year. Annualised" earning per share at Rs 16 was up from Rs 14.6 last year. Domestic sales grew 54 per cent to Rs 63 crore while sales of diversified operations increased by 27 per cent to Rs 17.6 crore.The double-edged segment of the company grew at over 40 per cent while disposables grew by 25 per cent. The recently introduced MACH 3 has received a good response and has recorded substantial sales in the second quarter.

PSI Data net rises 133 per cent
PSI Data Systems Ltd has posted a 133 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 8.33 crore for the first-half ended June 30, 2000 as against Rs 3.58 crore during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Total income of the company was up by 58 per cent at Rs 39.25 crore during the first-half, as against Rs 24.85 crore recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal. The company has registered a profit before tax of Rs 8.81 crore (Rs 4.01 crore), a rise of 120 per cent.

Hindustan Inks board meet today
The board of Hindustan Inks and Resins will meet on July 25, for considering the first quarter results and issue of bonus shares.TEC, MbT in pact Tata Electric Companies (TEC) and Mumbai Port Trust (MbT) have formally signed the agreement to construct the Trombay jetty on a build, own, operate and transfer basis for a period of 30 years. The jetty will be operational in 36 months time and will cater to a minimum of half million tonnes of coal per annum, in addition to one million tonnes of other products.

Zenith plea hearing on July 27
Zenith Health Care has filed a petition with the high court of Gujarat for scheme of reduction and reorganisation of share capital of the company and scheme of amalgamation of Mega Capital Ltd with the company. The petition is fixed for hearing on Thursday, July 27, 2000.

Boston Education shares
Boston Education and Software Technologies has decided to sub-divide each of existing shares of Rs 10 each into two equity shares of the face value of Rs 5 each. It has also decided to make a public issue of upto 50 lakh equity shares of the face value of Rs 5 each at a price determined by the board at the the time of the issue.

TTK firms amalgamation okayed
TTK Biomed has notified the BSE that the Mumbai high court has sanctioned the amalgamation between the company and TTK Health Care.HCC bags Rs 163cr BMC contract Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has notified the BSE that it has secured a work order for Rs 163.28 crore from the Brihanmumbai Muncipal Corporation, (BMC) for the construction of a tunnel from Bhandup to Malad Hill reservoir and further up to Charkop. As per tender documents, the work shall be completed with in a period of 72 months.

Vesuvius net up 10% in Q1
Vesuvius India Ltd posted a over 10 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 2.01 crore in the first quarter to June 30, 2000, as compared to Rs 1.80 crore in the same period of fiscal 1999-2000. Sales increased to Rs 15.72 crore to June 30, 2000, as compared to Rs 13.71 crore in the same period of previous fiscal. The company's tax provisioning of Rs 75 lakh in the last quarter was higher compared to Rs 45 lakh in the first quarter of fiscal 1999-2000.Lippi Systems turns around Lippi Systems Ltd has posted a turnaround by posting a net profit of Rs 47 lakh for the year ended March, 2000 as against a loss of Rs 52 lakh in the previous year. Turnover rose to Rs 3.28 crore from Rs 69 lakh in the previous year.
