New Delhi, July 10: The department of disinvestment (DoD) has appointed JM Morgan Stanley as global advisor for Air India, Lazard India Ltd for India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the IDBI-ANZ Grindlays Bank-Speedwing consortium for Indian Airlines.In all, global advisors have been appointed for disinvestment in 16 PSUs, according to a press release issued by the DoD. The list includes IPCL for which Warburg Dillon Read was appointed as advisor long back. Other PSUs are: Balco, Jardine Fleming India Securities Ltd; RBL Ltd, SB Billimoria & Co; Bharat Leather Corporation, SBI Capital Markets Ltd; Nepa Ltd, SBI Capital Markets Ltd; Instrumentation Ltd, Kota, IDBI; Hindustan Cable Ltd I-Sec; HTL, KPMG India Private Ltd; Scooters India Ltd, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Hindustan Copper Limited, IDBI-Sumitomo Bank Consortium; National Fertilizers Limited, Rabo Finance Private Ltd; Jessop & Co, AF Ferguson; and Madras Fertilizers Ltd, ICICI Securities and Bank of America.
According to DoD officials, mandate letters have been issued to all the global advisors, including Lazard for ITDC and JM Morgan Stanley for AI. It is to be noted that the name of Lazard was finalised long back, but it is only recently that the mandate letter has been finally issued.
