London, July 6:The euro pushed higher across the board on Thursday, firming to its peak in nearly a week against the dollar and setting multi-week highs against the yen and sterling amid bullishness on the euro zone economic outlook.Analysts said a batch of strong euro zone economic data this week and hawkish comments from the ECB President Wim Duisenberg on Wednesday had reinforced the positive sentiment on the single currency. The euro stretched as far as $0.9597 after German June unemployment rate fell on Thursday to 9.1 percent.
But analysts played down the impact of the release as the figures were unadjusted and in line with numbers leaked to the market a day earlier.
