Aptech net vaults 101% to Rs 39.13 crore in H1

Baburajan K
Mumbai, July 6: Aptech Ltd has reported a 101.3 per cent surge in net profit to Rs 39.13 crore in the first half of the current year as against Rs 19.44 crore in the first half of 1999.

Registering a 50.7 per cent increase, Aptech has clocked global revenues of Rs 241.28 crore (Rs 160.05 crore) during the period ended June 30, 2000. The growth in its software and consulting division has mainly contributed to the company's bottomline.

Aptech Ltd managing director Ganesh Natarajan said the growth of BconnectB, a portal from Aptech, should augment the company's software business in the coming months. The rise in its US operations has also resulted into higher growth.

Global software and consulting revenues grew by 153 per cent to Rs 73 crore and accounted for 30.3 per cent of total global revenues. Global training and education revenues improved by 28.8 per cent from Rs 130.51 crore to Rs 168.04 crore during the first-half of 2000. "We attribute the growth in our training business to our core philosophy of focusing on various niche areas in the business," Aptech chairman Atul Nishar said.
