Mini K Joseph
Bangalore: Jobcurry.com, an IT career site has received $5 million funds from its holding company the $0.5billion iGATE Capital Corporation formerly Mastech Corporation. Currently, the portal is a 100 per cent subsidiary of iGATE Capital Corporation. The portal's vice-president Sunil Bane told eFE that the fund was expected to sustain the company for almost two years."We are hoping to break-even during the second year of our operation,'' said Bane.

The fund would be used towards infrastructure development, setting up offices in India, UK, US and Singapore besides promotional various activities, he said. Later briefing the media in Bangalore on Thursday, Jobcurry.com managing director Murali Santhanam said over 50 high net worth corporates including Siemens, Hindustan Lever Ltd, Hughes Software were registered with the portal.

The UK-based Abbey National Bank was also outsourcing talent through the portal. Being a resource delivery arm of iGATE Capital Corporation, the company had already recruited over 10,000 IT personnel for blue chip companies like EDS, IBM, Oracle Corporation, Motorola, Sony, AT&T and GE, said Santhanam.

The portal has announced the launch of its services in Bangalore. ``We are looking at Bangalore in a big way as it is the hub of IT industry,'' he said. Considering the fast pace of technology and the plethora of skills with various certifications required by the IT industry, finding the right talent was a challenge said Santhanam. He further said that the features like White Glove Services for employers and Career Destination for job seekers would enable the dot.com to form a virtual community. Jobcurry.com would offer services across the country.
