Parisian beauty potions unveiled in India

SRIKUMAR BONDYOPADHYAY
With Indian women wowing the beauty world, it's no wonder that multinational cosmetics and bodycare product manufacturers are rushing to hook the Indian market. The latest in the queue is the Paris based Payot Laboratories.Payot feels the Indian cosmetic market is in for tremendous growth. It has decided to sell its exclusive range of skincare and make-up products through the Mumbai based Headway Cosmetics Pvt. Ltd.

First off the line in India is Payot's anti-stress bodycare products, Bain Relaxant, Huile Seche Relaxante and Serum Decontractant, and its range of make-up.

"Payot's skincare products are developed on the basis of aromatherapy and relaxing treatments," says export director Fredy Pias. "Our products promise to unite the pleasure of the senses and the perfection of technology, and we hope to capture a significant share of the Indian cosmetic and skincare market."

In keeping with its philosophy that the human soul and the human face are always in complete harmony, Payot looks upon unburdening the soul and removing stress as an essential part of beauty care. Payot's beauty treatment is based upon what is called the `physical training of the face and neck'. The method was devised by Nadia Payot, a dermatologist and founder of Payot Laboratories, and it involves making each of the muscles of the face work one after the other using specific movements. Payot offers a skin-type adapted solution for each skin condition, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic and with no animal origin.

And to cheer up the soul, the company offers aromatherapy, which is based on the fact that a good fragrance cheers up the soul and this gets reflected in a blooming complexion and fewer wrinkles. Payot's stress relaxing treatment entails two stages: anti-stress body soothers and body firmers and softeners.

Payot's skincare product range consists of nine different lines, available in packs starting from 40 ml to 250 ml. The products are, however, targetted at the premium segment of the market. For example, a 40 ml Fluide Matifiante is priced at Rs 1,025, a 30 ml Concentre Double Action pack costs Rs 2,300. Most of Payot's products are in the price range of Rs 800-Rs 1,800.
