Emami looks for tie-up with US firm

Calcutta: Cosmetics major Emami is looking for a tie-up with a US firm to manufacture some of its 'Madhuri-Emami' line of herbal, personal and healthcare products, the first set of which is slated to be introduced in October this year. The Rs 325-crore company, which had recently signed up Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit for promotional activities, is now considering a tie-up with a US firm to manufacture some of the items, company sources said here.Madhuri, now in the US, has agreed to be the 'brand ambassador' of the new product range and is "interacting closely" with the R&D centre of the company for development of the products, the sources said. The first set of Madhuri-Emami range to be launched in October would include moisturiser, lotion, hair oil and shampoo. The other products in the offing are colour cosmetics and dental care products.
