Dubai: E-business and infrastructure solutions provider Bangalore Labs has announced setting up of a $1 million network operations centre (NOC) at Dubai Internet City by the end of this year. The facility in Dubai will be one of the five network operation centres it will set up around the world. The main NOC will be based in Bangalore, with satellites planned in US, Europe and Asia-Pacific, apart from the Middle east, TG Ramesh, executive vice president and founder of Bangalore Labs, said. The vendor-independent NOCs will be capable of remotely managing both networks and enterprise, third-party networking devices and computing platforms, mission critical applications right down to connectivity, Ramesh said.
"We decided to establish five centres in different parts of the world to spread risks from the technological point of view. The five centres will ensure that there is no single point of critical failure. There will be multiple disaster management units," he said. Such a networking centre will be thefirst of its kind in India to operate on a global scale, he said. "The Bangalore NOC will start operations in mid-July while the US centre is scheduled to open 90 days later." Bangalore Labs has also opened its Middle East office in Dubai and will relocate to the Internet city once the infrastructure is ready.
