Microland to raise up to $10m for itspace.com
Bangalore-based Microland group plans to raise $10 million (Rs 44 crore) for its Internet company itspace.com and is talking to various institutional investors including GE Caps and ICICI Ventures for this. The group is also looking at making one of its subsidiaries public by March 2001, a senior company official said. "We plan to go for the first round of funding for our technology portal itspace.com by June this year to raise $7-10 dollars.," Pradeep Kar, chairman of Microland group said.

Archies hives off online biz into separate arm
Archies Greetings & Gifts Limited, has decided to make Archies Online.Com Limited as its subsidiary to focus on e-commerce and Internet. A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the board of directors held on Wednesday. The new initiative aims to tap the market of e-motions as till now the Internet in perceived to be an impersonal way of communicating personal feelings, says the company press release.

Nazara.com launches five channels
Nazara.com has launched five channels with effect from Tuesday. It has also entered into Web radio. The channel business includes dedicated channels to famous music composers and actors and two live channels monitored by DJ's. Besides, it will have two channels based on genre and era of music. RadioNazara.com plans to expand the number of channels to 30 by May-end. "We will be having 50 channels by June-end with streaming facilities," said nazara.com chief executive officer Nitish Jain. Radionazara will provide value-added services like rating of songs, integrated chat shows and karaoke-enabled channels.

SystemLogic India opens centre at Silicon Valley
SystemLogic India has announced the opening of their development center and branch office in the Silicon Valley at Fremont, California. This is the first direct operation of SystemLogic India in the USA. SystemLogic India already has a presence in the US market through its associate company SystemLogic Inc, based in Santa Monica, California.

E-governance coming of age: KPMG study
A study of governments around the world by KPMG International, reveals that government leaders are consistently focusing on expanding pubic private partnerships and adopting "e-government" technologies as they negotiate strategies to redefine government roles and responsibities. The KPMG study, "Managing the Public Sector-Global Challenges", was released at the World Competitive Cities Congress held at Wasahington.
