Excel Infotech gets Category A ISP licence
Excel Infotech Ltd, a Delhi-based IT company promoted by the Amtek group has obtained a Category A ISP license and plans to launch ISP services at a national level under the brandname of Swiftxs.com. Swiftxs will be available in six cities starting with Gurgaon by the end of September, 2000. Both narrowband and broadband services will be launched along with various other value-added features.
Hitech Entertainment becomes IT savvy
Hitech Entertainment is setting up a production house for making IT-based software, multimedia and entertainment programmes. These programmes are being developed for a foreign broadcaster, who will telecast the same as an exclusive IT channel. Hitech will also produce TV serials for one of the top five channels in collaboration with Sangeet Enterprises.
Nokia, Starhub ink pact
In what is claimed as the first in Asia,Nokia has signed an agreement worth 300 million dollars with Starhub of Singapore to supply third generation network solutions.
This contract would strengthen Nokia's leadership in 3G core networks. "We believe the market for broadband services will show a similar growth pattern over the next two years as new Internet protocol based applications require more bandwith and consumers demand higher levels of performance'', says Terry Clontz,CEO of Starhub.
Cyberspace floats interpersonal Website
Cyberspace has launched its Website called meranet.com. Set up by three IIT engineers cum IIM management graduates, meranet.com may well take interpersonal connectivity to a new level. And in this endeavour the promoters are being supported by Ashish Dhawan and Raj Kondur of Chrysalis Capital, who are the enthusiastic angel investors for the company.
