New Delhi, May 4: The net profit of Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) has increased by 138 per cent to reach Rs 85.61 crore in the year ending March 2000 from last year's figure of Rs 35.85 crore.The turnover of HFCL has also increased by nearly 45 per cent to reach Rs 586.55 crore in the year 2000 from the 1999 level of Rs 408.33 crore. Income from other operations has also risen to Rs 20.86 crore from 16.20 crore last year. There has also been a major increase in reserves from Rs 300 crore to Rs 1133 crore. According to official sources, this will further rise to over Rs 2000 crore once the balance Rs 800 crore of the total Rs 1040 crore equity investment by Kerry Packer's comes in.
The interest and finance charges have also gone up marginally to Rs 38.34 crore from Rs 34.44 crore in 1999. The profit before tax (PBT) has also gone up drastically to reach Rs 96.62 crore this year. Last year the PBT was Rs 40.15 crore. The paid-up equity share capital has also increase to Rs 71.65 crore from Rs 64.65 crore last year.
The earning per share has also gone up to Rs 9.77 this year from Rs 5.20 last year.
