Compudyne sales jump to Rs 6.44 cr
The Bangalore-based Compudyne Winfosystems Ltd has achieved a sales turnover of Rs 6.44 crore for the year ended March 31,2000 as against Rs Rs 1.76 crore last fiscal, registering a 267 per cent growth. The net profit has been pegged at Rs 1.96 crore as against Rs 37.23 lakh last year representing a 426 per cent growth in profits. The company's main focus area of e-commerce has contributed 60 per of the total revenues, while 40 per cent came in from multimedia activities. The board of directors have recommended a 15 per cent dividend.Namtech Electronic net
The Bangalore-based Namtech Electronic devices Ltd has recorded total revenues of Rs 26.08 crore for the year ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 18.61 crore last year. The net profit has been pegged at Rs 1.41 crore compared to Rs 85.35 lakh last fiscal. As per the projections, the company is looking at a turnover of Rs 32 crore this fiscal with appropriate increase in the capacity. Namtech is also looking at aggressively exploring the export markets.
Birla VXL net loss
Birla VXL Ltd has reported a higher net loss of Rs 24.56 crore during the third quarter ended March, 2000 against Rs 20.76 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year. Net sales declined to Rs 66.47 crore from Rs 157.38 crore and other income came down to Rs 0.39 crore from Rs 0.45 crore. Expenditure during the quarter was also lower at Rs 66.58 crore against Rs 145.84 crore last year and after that gross profit before any deductions slipped to Rs 0.28 crore from Rs 11.99 crore. Interest charges came down to Rs 16.88 crore from Rs 21.52 crore.
Shree Rama Multi-Tech net up
Shree Rama Multi-Tech Ltd has recorded a net profit of Rs 21.42 crore for the six-month period ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 17.67 crore for the corresponding period in the previous year. The company's total income rose to Rs 94.45 crore from Rs 70.84 crore for the same period.
CII delegation to Africa
An eight-member delegation of Confederation of Indian Industry from Ahmedabad will visit South Africa from May 6 to 13 to explore business opportunities in stainless steel industry with Columbus Steel, the fifth largest steel producers in world. The invitation was extended by Mpumalanga Investment Initiative (MII) at a CCI-Gujarat office meeting here in February attended by 65 delegates from Gujarat.
STG net jumps 340%
Software Technology Group International (STG) has recorded a 340 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 8.01 crore during the fiscal 1999-00 against Rs 1.82 crore achieved during the corresponding period previous year. The company's operational income zoomed to Rs 32.40 crore during the period from Rs 19.82 crore.
L&T bags two orders
Larsen & Toubro has secured two erection, procurement and construction (EPC) projects from Indian Oil Corporation for its Digboi refinery in Assam. The orders are worth Rs 247.62 crore together. The scope of the orders include residual process design,engineering, procurement, fabrication, manufacture, supply,installation and commissioning of these units at Digboi, a company press release said.
Aarti net rises to Rs 21 cr
Aarti Industries Ltd has registered a net profit of Rs 21.45 crore for the year ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 17.28 crore for the previous year. The company's turnover rose by 25 per cent to Rs 243.43 crore for the same period.
Kale Consultants bags order
Kale Consultants Ltd has bagged an order worth Rs 1 crore from Kenya Airways for setting up their new airline accounting software. The software is known as Performance Review and Information System for Management (PRISM) which would help Kenya Airways' top management raise queries on revenue accounting without the intervention of the IT department, company managing director Vipul Jain said.
