Mumbai, May 4: Snowcem India Ltd has recorded 76 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 15.01 crore for the year ended March 31 2000.Net sales of the company also registered 36 per cent jump to Rs 15.13 crore as compared to the previous year sales of 11.11 crore. In the last quarter of the financial year 1999-2000, the company recorded net profit of Rs 2.48 crore on sale of Rs 49.72 crore.
The company has installed two more windmills during the year at Chalkewadi, dist Satara, including which Snowcem will have four windmills in Maharashtra and five in Tamil Nadu.
The company's plants in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu will now be self-sufficient in power. Also, the benefits of sales tax incentive scheme on account of windmills will also be available to the company in the ensuing years.
