Web Mela starts today in Mumbai
The India Internet Show, the country's first Web Mela gets on the road today at the Nehru Centre in Mumbai. About 43 exhibitors and close to 80 URLs are expected to participate in the show. About 50% of the participants are from metros other than Mumbai like Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad according to the organizers. Entry to the exhibition is free of charge. The exhibitors range from companies who have a presence in Internet spaces as diverse as sports to personal finance, education, travel, e-tailers, auctions, gaming and contesting to news.Orange, Rediff launch WAP services
Orange and Rediff.com announced the launch of WAP services. While they claim a strategic alliance, the nature of the alliance is not clear. This is the first time in the country though that a cellular service provider is enabling customers to browse Internet content is the strictest sense of the word.
