Bangalore, May 4: HCL Comnet Systems and Services Ltd is drawing up strategic portfolio expansions for its range of ``e-Secure'' online security solutions as part of its strategy to promote and provide end-to-end security solutions for varied vertical technology segments. The company's business manager for network security Hanif Sohrab told eFE that the strategy would focus on putting together modular security solutions for the WAP, financial, e-commerce, ISP and the corporate (through virtual private network or VPN security) segments.
Solutions in each segment would address and integrate all the 10 crucial aspects of e-security including authentication, encryption, firewall, intrusion detection, network management, bandwidth availability, audits, consultancy and content security, Sohrab said.
``Under each segment we will also focus on relevant sub-segments. Focus is also strong on smaller companies in order to build secure, robust and scalable e-security networks,'' he said.
As for segment-specific solutions, he said that the ``secure electronic transaction'' technology which facilitates superior online payment facilities (for banking requirements), security audits (includes risk analysis and business technology recommendations) and specialised packages for the stock broking and e-commerce portals would be introduced for the financial sector needs.
Corporate focus would be on providing office-to-office and extranet security through the VPNs which would include designing, implementing and maintaining the network setup, Sohrab added. The ISP and WAP specific program will look at consultancy and integration of other value added services.
``We will leverage the growing networking and e-commerce market to associate ourselves as pioneers of e-security. Understanding the market and providing overall support to promote the concept of safe networks will be the key strategy,'' Sohrab said.
The company was also in the process of initiating a study to compile data on the e-security market in India as country specific facts and figures were not easily available, he said.
HCL Comnet has put together a team of 25 security trainers to focus on training the corporate sector on security and maintenance related issues, while the 10 member team of business consultants will look at offering specialised consultancy to build solutions specific to customer requirements. The company is looking at gaining over 50 per cent share in the e-security solution market over the next two years.
