Pioneer Embroideries pays 12% dividend
Pioneer Embroideries Ltd has announced an interim dividend of 12 per cent for the financial year 1999-2000. The company had recorded improved financial performance for the first nine months of the fiscal year with a sales turnover of Rs 27.56 crore and a net profit of Rs 2.94 crore as compared with Rs 20.8 crore and Rs 1.93 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

American Express Travel bags award
American Express Travel Services have been voted the corporate travel agency of 1999, for the fourth consecutive year. The award is given by Miller Freeman and Travel Trade Gazette, the region's leading travel trade publication. The award is determined by votes from over 17,000 travel agents, tour operators, professional conference organisers and destination management companies, an American Express release said.

IEC Software net up 239%
IEC Software Ltd has recorded an increase of 239 per cent in net profit for the year 1999-2000 to reach Rs 2.66 crore as against Rs 0.79 crore in the previous year. The company's turnover increased from Rs 6.97 crore to Rs 12.58 crore.

No leather from animals
Three major American retailers, Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic have agreed to stop using leather from animals killed in India, following international protests. PETA members, who protested outside the Gap stores and forced the company to stop using Indian leather is now eyeing other products using Indian leather.

ALFS memorandum to RBI
Association of Leasing & Financial Services Companies (ALFS), has submitted a memorandum to the Reserve Bank of India urging it to amend the proposed new legislation for housing finance companies, so as to provide a mechanism for recovery of dues. ALFS has also requested similar provisions for recovery of dues of hire-purchase and leasing companies.

Grasim results on April 28
The board of Grasim Industries will meet on April 28 to announce the audited financial results for the year ended March 31, 1999.
