Only for the $100,000+

NIVEDITA MOOKERJI
You had priority banking earlier for high net worth people. And now you havepriority job search for the same crowd. To be precise, for professionalsearning $100,000 plus annually. Called the `Executive Suite', this is yetanother innovation from the Wall Street Journal stable. Tony Lee,editor-in-chief and general manager, Careers (Wall Street Journal), saysthat Executive Suite is not just about job search; it's much more. ``It'sdevoted to the needs and interests of executives, managers and professionalsearning $100,000 plus annually,'' says Lee. To make sure that this newservice has plenty of takers, the Executive Suite is being run inconjunction with Exec-U-Net, the top executive networking organisation inthe US.

The objective of the new service being to help senior executives addresstheir career management and job search concerns, its features include activeexecutive searches, top executive salaries by company type and salary dataat large, small, private and startup companies. Plus, it offers a selectionof career management articles; indices illustrating the demand for executivetalent by industry, region, function and salary; access to Exec-U-Net'sexecutive insider newsletter; a source of executive career tips, articles, trends and resources; and a calendar of networking meetings held byExec-U-Net.

Although it's mainly targeted at the American scenario, Indians too stand tobenefit from the new option since job opportunities and related features aregradually becoming global in nature with a growing number of MNCs setting upshop in India and also recruiting from India for their overseas offices. Andit's particularly realistic in the premium salary segment.

Besides the executives themselves, Exec-U-Net too is looking forward to theventure with Executive Suite. Says David Opton, executive director,Exec-U-Net: ``Exec-U-Net is looking forward to sharing our career managementknowledge with top executives whose careers are enhanced every day throughcareers.wsj.com.''

Adds Opton: ``The demand for this type of information has grown tremendouslyduring the past decade as corporations fiercely compete for executive talentand there's no end in sight for this trend. We think the combination of ourexclusive content and that of careers.wsj.com will make the new ExecutiveSuite section an extremely powerful information source for career-mindedexecutives to visit regularly.''

Giving an overview of Exec-U-Net, Opton says that it is the first source towhich executive recruiters and companies can turn confidently in order tofind top executive talent. And here's what recruiters will gain: highquality executive candidates; quick & focussed responses; a no cost andeffective resource; and confidentiality (when you need it).

Giving data on Exec-U-Net, Opton says that this year, over 4,500 differentsearch firms and companies will post over 20,000 senior executive levelpositions with Exec-U-Net. Positions range from CEO/COO/president down todirector and manager level executive positions across most industries andgeographical areas.

And to give you an idea of what kind of professionals use this service, consider this: Over 70 per cent of the Exec-U-Net members are currentlyemployed; over 75 per cent have salaries higher than $100,000 (25 per centwith salaries greater than $200,000); and over 67 per cent have advanceddegrees.

With a daily update, Exec-U-Net is one place where you're assured of quickand focussed responses. And for both recruiters and job seekers, it's allfree.
