Hyderabad, April 10: The Sydney 2000 Olympics starting September will have an Indian touch with Hyderabad-based Sriven Multi-tech Ltd., being roped in by Athletics Australia (AA), to set up touch-screen terminals at the Olympics City. The company has floated a new outfit in Australia, Indosoft Technologies Pty Ltd (ITPL), with an initial investment of Rs 1.5 crore for this purpose," VV Subrahmanyam, chairman and managing director, Sriven Multi-Tech, told The Financial Express. The MoU was signed during end-March 2000.Sriven will set up 50 kiosks in and around the Syndey venue on its own, including hotels, restaurants, airport and swimming pools to provide entire information on the various venues and the history of Olympics. Revenue to the company would be through advertising on the terminals, he said.
The main activity involves promotion of athletics in Australia and overseas, using multimedia, animation studio and software technologies with touchscreen kiosks and use Internet as broadcast media, he said.
On its part AA will introduce ITPL to sponsors, advertisers and supporters, to make them aware and also making them participate by way of sponsorship/advertise using the kiosks/Internet as the medium to generate revenue and profits for both AA and ITPL as quickly as possible, said Subrahmanyam.
ITPL will help manage the Internet and website for AA. Once the Olympics is over, ITPL will be also engaged in similar type of games such as Goodwill Games, CommonWealth Games, etc for a long term basis, he added.
