Systems America plans defence portal

Mini K Joseph
BANGALORE, MARCH 30: Systems America is planning to launch a B2B portal for aerospace and defence industry to link manufactures suppliers across the world together. The portal is scheduled to be up and running within three months from Bangalore. Systems America's chairman and CEO Adesh Tyagi told reporters here on Thursday that with this initiative, the company would strengthen its presence in global aerospace and defence market.

The company has recently set up an e-innovation centre here to build, develop and host the portal. The centre would support, design and maintain services for the portal.

Tyagi said that the company was negotiating with aerospace giants in the US and Europe as part of its initiatives to put up the portal. ``Such agreements with aerospace companies will be the largest deal for the company. This will provide a Web-based marketplace for the aerospace and defence companies which make components ranging from engines to missiles,'' he said.

The Web site would enable aerospace firms to transact goods and services. The portal would be connected real time to other industry B2B Web marketplaces using cutting edge technology. Systems America was also going in for a fund raising exercise. "Mostly we will be looking at a book-building option to raise anything between Rs 50 and 55 crore,'' Tyagi said. It was looking at a revenue flow of Rs 13 crore during the current fiscal which was targeted to touch Rs 67 crore and 146 crore during the next two fiscals.
