Combat Drugs takes over two firms for IT venture

HYDERABAD, MARCH 30: Combat Drugs Ltd (CDL), a city-based formulation company, plans to enter information technology business after acquiring two firms engaged in software training and development.

According to company sources, CDL has already taken over two startup firms namely, Softech Institute of Information Technology and Rhans Infotech Pvt Ltd, to commence its new activity. Besides, the company is also looking for entering in the area of Internet service providing, added the sources.

The company has said that it has changed the name of the company to Combat Drugs and Softech Ltd from Combat Drugs Ltd, to facilitate the diversification into information technology. According to the company estimates, the proposed IT project will require an investment of Rs 7.20 crore. To raise the required funds CDL proposes a preferential issue at a premium, the company said in a release.

CDL is engaged in marketing a wide range of branded formulations comprising anti-inflammatory, anti-biotics, anti-tubercular, anti-ulcer, proteins, enzymes, vitamins apart from the modern drugs like cefotaxime, cefadroxil, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin etc. Further, CDL is into contract manufacturing. It has commenced manufacturing products on job work basis to Zental Drugs Ltd and Aglowmed Ltd, recently.
