Hyderabad, March 20: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today held a high level meeting to review the arrangements for United States President Bill Clinton's visit to the city on March 24.Security arrangements and preparatory work to welcome the US president at the two venues, where he is scheduled to visit, were discussed at the meeting.
Naidu asked the officials to make fool-proof arrangements for Clinton, scheduled to visit Mahavir Hospital and Hitec city here, according to an official release.
State Home Minister T Devender Goud, Roads and Buildings Vijayarama Rao, chief secretary V Ananda Rau, political secretary MVS Prasad, DGP HJ Dora, commissioner of police Sukumaran, principal secretary, industries, Gopal Rao, secretary, IT, Satyanarayana, principal secretary, higher education, A K Goel, secretary, school education, Chaya Ratan and other officials attended the meeting, the release added. Meanwhile, volunteers of Eelam Supporters Organisations Coordination Committee were taken into custody today when they attempted to take out a procession and hold a demonstration in front of the USIS here to protest against US President Bill Clinton's visit to India.
Police said they had not granted permission for the procession and demonstration.
Later, all of them were released, police said. Among those who participated in the protest included Tamizhar Desiya Iyyakkam (Tamil Nationalist Movement) leader P Nedumaran and Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam leader Anoor Jagadeesan.
