Bathina ties up with Emergency Networks
Software developer Bathina Technologies India, (B-TIL), has entered into an agreement with Emergency Networks Ltd, (Emnet), a company specialising in security devices and services. The pact is to jointly execute projects and to set up a vehicle tracking systems based on GIS, GPS and satellite and wireless systems, a company release said on Monday. In a bid to strengthen its technology base to help with the projects B-TIL has acquired two Hyderabad based-companies Octal Systems and APEL Radio Communication Systems.

Goldiam declares dividend
The board of directors of Goldiam International, has declared an interim dividend of 70 per cent. The company has made a net profit of Rs 11.4 crore for the nine month period ended December 1999. The company had recently signed a joint venture with Smartstyle of Los Angeles, California , for retailing branded products of Goldiam International in the North American markets.

Karnataka against closure of BGML
The Karnataka government on Monday said it would bring pressure on the Centre to see that 120-year-old Bharat Gold Mines Ltd (BGML) in Kolar district was not closed and its workers did not suffer. Large and medium scale industries minister RV Deshpande informed the Upper House during the zero hour that he was aware of the decision taken by the expert committee constituted by the Centre to close the undertaking and would pursue the matter in all seriousness with the Centre, to see that it was not closed and the workers who had been asked to accept the VRS scheme did not suffer.

HFCL staff seek separation
The employees of the Namrup unit of the Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (HFCL) in Assam have urged Prime Minister AB Vajpayee to speed up the process of proposed separation of the unit from the other three closed-down company plants in West Bengal and Bihar.
