An IIM man, who had specialised in HR in various well known companies, he has roped in other specialists to contribute to the portal. The portal offers complete confidentiality to the applicant. The portal has laid great importance on content and allows for interactivity in various ways.Companies, who wish to subscribe to the database (currently 10,000 applicants) are given registration numbers of applicants, while the portal gets in touch through mail with the applicant apprising him of a prospective employer's interest in him with all the details. The latter can then choose to correspond with the company directly.
Careerenrich.com offers free online psychological testing facilities to the candidates to gauge `how assertive they are', job health scan, that relates to the environment of the work-place. They can also check how good they are as spouses, making for interesting interactivity.
The user gets an instantaneous response on areas which require strengthening. There are light-hearted sections, down to earth solutions to problems on how to negotiate, concepts on working from home, qualitative reviews, online chats with panel of experts, opinion polls on work related issues and a host of other features.
The portal also aims to build communities for women, the IT sector and various other groups. Interactivity is currently to the tune of 30 per cent, but this will be increased further, said Murthy.
An interested NRI is investing to the tune of $ 250,000 in the portal and negotiations were going on with two venture capitalists for more funds, said Murthy. The technology has been obtained from Computer Access Pvt Ltd. The latter maintains RBI's site and has its own server with VSNL.
The portal plans to get its revenues from advertisements and is counting on a large number of hits on account of its cross-linkages with other similar overseas sites. It also gets subscriptions from companies who wish to access its data base. The revenue streams if predicted rightly should bring in profits from the third year.
