Tata infotech in pact with SolutionNet
Tata Infotech Ltd has entered into an agreement with the US-based Internet and solutions and services company, SolutionNet International to market its ENet corporate Internet banking product in the country. Tata Infotech will provide banks with ENet implementation, support and customisation services. ENet is an Internet-based, fully secure and online delivery channel that provides a bank's corporate clients with secure access to its banking data across the world.

Sunil Rajasekhar is indiainfo president
Indiainfo.com Pvt Ltd has appointed Sunil Rajasekhar as president of its portal - indiainfo.com. Rajasekhar's responsibility is to position the portal as India's number one site. Prior to joining the portal, he was with a publishing group.

Essar mobile banking starts today
Essar Cellphone on Tuesday announced that the launch of mobile banking, is operational Delhi from Wednesday onwards. This enables Essar Cellphone subscribers to carry out their banking using their mobile phones. The service will initially be available to subscribers having an HDFC Bank account and more banks will be added soon.

Alcatel Litespan bags MTNL contract
MTNL has selected the Alcatel Litespan multiservice access node for deployment of 104,000 lines. The contract, worth 13 million euros, foresees the installation of the equipment during the first quarter of 2000. The Alcatel solution is based on the Alcatel Litespan Multiservice access node that can flexibly integrate different services (from narrowband to broadband) as well as different transport technologies managed by a single network management system.

Wipro unveils Kannada printer
Wipro Infotech has launched India's first Kannada highspeed line matrix printer and DOT matrix printers with an option to print English also. Wipro Limited vice chairman Arun K Thiagarajan said at the launch that the company was planning to come out with the Telugu language printer within three months.

Kiddie's Computers: No kidding this!
Mumbai-based Mitashi Educational Computers on Tuesday launched an educative and entertaining software `Kiddie's Computers' which will be "school away from school" for the children between the age group of five and 15 during their summer vacation. Kiddie's Computers, which will be available in the market at the affordable range between Rs 1085 and Rs 2685, has five versions -- Mitashi Mega Kid, Mitashi Master Kid, Mitashi Maestro, Mitashi Whard and Mitashi Little Wonder.

Pugmarks buys 9% in US venture
Pugmarks Interweb Pvt Ltd, a domain-based Web hosting company, has picked up nine per cent stake in reservemeal.com inc. Pugmarks Interweb now controls five million shares in the Canadian firm. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Targeting the over 85,000 restaurants, reservemeal intends to help in menu browsing, food and seat selection and even ordering food and beverages on the Net.

Oracle Software, NIIT in pact
Oracle Software India and NIIT have tied up to offer comprehensive training on Oracle technologies in India. Under an agreement, participants would get training on the latest Oracle technologies in eight cities. NIIT would be the exclusive training partner of Oracle8i.

Ras signs MoU with PII
Hyderabad-based software solution company, Ras Infotech on Tuesday signed an MoU with Petroleum India International (PII), a consortium of top 10 corporates of Indian petroleum and petrochemical companies, to market `Simsmart', a process to control and design engineering tools, in the Middle East.

Midas unveils Web directory
Midas Internet Services has launched a web directory offering India-related information - www.appuonline.com. The company claims to have over one lakh sites spread across 4,000 categories. According to S Narasimhan, CEO of Midas Internet Services, users can easily access any India-related website through this portal.
