Nasdaq will be one of the co-sponsors of the Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards Programme in India for the year 2000, according to Kashi N Memani, chairman of Ernst & Young, India. The Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards Programme, which was launched by Ernst & Young in India for the first time in 1999, drew an overwhelming response from the Indian entrepreneurs especially from Netpreneurs.Comverse sets up subsidiary
Comverse Network Systems, provider of network enabling services, on Tuesday announced the launch of a new wholly-owned subsidiary in the country to manage its South Asian operations. "With the setting up of the new subsidiary - Comverse Network Systems India - the company would look at offering sales and support services in India," Yuval Levin, regional director of CMS said.
Apple Computers launches Power MAC G4
Apple Computer International Pvt Ltd, on Tuesday introduced the Power MAC G4, its next generation of desktop computers designed for professional customers. "Power MAC G4 is powered by the revolutionary new Powerpc G4 chip architected by Apple, Motorola and IBM, and is the first personal computer in history to deliver supercomputer level performance of over one billion floating-point per second", a company release said.
SKumars.com to go online in Q3
The Skumars.com e-commerce initiative is well on track and will go online by the third quarter of 2000, Vikas Kasliwal, chairman of the group said on Tuesday. As part of its campaign to increase awareness on e-commerce in the country, the company is launching a four-week campaign on television across 18 different satellite and regional channels.
AT&T Prepaid unveiled
Birla AT&T Communication Ltd has unveiled `AT&T Prepaid' on the Intelligent Network Platform. It is loaded with advanced features including handset compatibility, low balance warning, over the air recharging and accurate billing of long distance call from anywhere with the AT&T Maharashtra network. The prepaid card is available in three denominations. To initiate trials of cellular telephony, AT&T has priced the product at Rs 999 that has a talk-time of Rs 600 and a validity of 30-days.
Arena targets 100% growth
Arena Multimedia, a part of Aptech Ltd, is looking at a 100 per cent growth rate over the previous year. The company is also planning to unveil quality offerings. Arena is expanding its presence in Europe and Saarc region.
