Brush up on art -- NuCent Tech launches artstall.com

Sunil Mukhopadhyay
FEBRUARY 22: Nucent Technologies, a Pressman group company, on Tuesday announced its foray into Internet technologies with the launch of artstall.com, the first of a series of niche portals to be launched by the organisation.

NuCent also plans to offer e-commerce solutions to corporates and businesses, and strategic positioning and marketing advice to dot.com start-ups, Pressman's managing director Navin Suchanti said.

Claiming that artstall.com is the first art portal in India, its 24-year-old architect Rohan Suchanti said there are over 200 works of young budding Indian artists offered for sale. It is expected that by year-end, there will be over 5000 works of Indian art available at the site.

Indians residing abroad or foreigners will be the target customers who will be able to purchase the art pieces through auctions which will continue for seven days each time.

Jogen Chowdhury, the noted Calcutta-based artist and the chief guest at the launch function, said "the launch of artstall.com is a significant event."
