Microsoft to invest in Chrysalis
FEBRUARY 3; Chrysalis Capital, three months old in India, and focussed on IT and Internet companies, said that Microsoft will invest $5 million into their fund. This is Microsoft's first investment in an Indian venture capital fund. With this infusion, the total corpus in Chrysalis' kitty goes up to $65 million, which, the company says, has been earmarked for India. The advisory committee of the fund will now include Microsoft director corporate development Sanjay Chheda and a senior representative from Microsoft India in addition to a number of Chrysalis' other investors.
