BSkyB shares up on deal hopes

London, Feb 1: British Sky Broadcasting shares powered to record highs on Tuesday amid talk Chairman Rupert Murdoch may have deals up his sleeve, possibly with Finland's Nokia.Analysts said News Corp, which controls 40 per cent of BSkyB, could also be hatching plans to unlock hidden value in the group by spinning off several assets. BSkyB shares surged 9.4 per cent in early trade to a record a high of 1575P. They settled back in volatile trade to stand three percent up at 1482P.
