Place of pilgrimage' plan
JANUARY 31: `Andaman & Nicobar Islands would be developed as a `place of pilgrimage' to attract a greater number of domestic tourists, and projected as a destination of eco-friendly tourism to draw foreign ones, its Lt. Governor I Gupta, said in Bangalore on Monday. "We will develop it as a `teerthasthal' (place of pilgrimage)...Here you have a cellular jail...also story of the freedom fighters," Gupta told PTI. To attract more foreign tourists, he said the islands would be developed as eco-tourism destination.
